My Night Amongst the Stars

The title is a lie.  I totally didn't hang out with the stars, but I did hang out with these crazy worthy name droppers, the editors of Seventeen Magazine.  Big Sister took me out with her bosses on Friday night (I know, totally anti-Shabs), and introduced me to all of her bosses.  Pretty cool, I know.  So they provided me with the low-down on all my favorite celebs, having all been on many a red carpet, movie set, or in their own office conducting interviews.

So obviously I first asked about Gossip Girl.  Serena, or Blake Lively as I was snootily corrected (duh, I know, but character names are more fun to use) is apparently really nice, in a very Hollywood way.  And uh yeah, I didn't know what that meant, because not really in with a Hollywood crowd.  But The Name Dropper informs me that it means she is really nice, great at interviews, but acts like she believes she should act.  Instead of acting like herself, she acts like Blake Lively, the actress from Gossip Girl  and Pants.

Next up, my best friend, Selena Gomez, from my mom's favorite show, Lizards of Waverly Place.  Yeah.  Totally cute, they all think she's beautiful.  But a product of Disney.  Acts only how Disney would want her to and answers her questions in the pre-programmed way that don't give anything real away.  Apparently Miley is way more legit.

Zac Efron is flamboyant
Robert Pattinson is a moron
Alexis Bledel is a Rudebin (sucks, in Fink terms)
America Ferrera is nice, but starved
Kostos is hot
Chase Crawford touched Molly's friend

So I can't remember what else, but if I get to live the glamorous life at some point, I'm all about sharing more.  Feel free to be appalled about any of them.

FINALLY

It's finnnnnally March, which means that my tv shows are all coming back, including GREEK.  I can't wait!!!  Gossip Girl and 90210 and How I Met Your Mother and whatever else I watch are coming back too, but I'm obviously most excited for Greek.  Will Rebecca stay with ZBZ or go with Frannie? (my guess is ZBZ, she has this weird allegiance to it)  Will Casey ever get back together with Cappie or will she stay with Kostos forever?  Will Kara McGrath watch this season or is she too good for ABCFam?  And what's the deal with the new guy, Jesse McCartney?  Kappa Tau or Omega Chi?  Apparently he is going to be Calvin's friend from high school, so he will probably go to Kappa Tau, to mix things up.  Calvin supposedly has a new love interest. Nice!  As do Rusty and Ashleigh.  Good for them.  No more Travises or Jen Ks.  Gah I love this show. March 30th, can't wait!

I have a sister whom I imitate

Okay, well really I have two sister whom I imitate, but this post is about one in particular.  Hello, I mean this is the sister who has a blog and convinced me to start one, no matter how little I really have to say.  In the latest entry of her blog, which I believe was actually written by her friend, she made a mock Facebook post of the 25 random things about her.  Like my sister and her friends, the random facts were sarcastic, bizarre, and kinda clever.  And because I clearly desperately want to mooch all of those characteristics from my sister, I want to do a riff on the 25 facts post.  Although, because I'm a Jewcamp extraordinaire, I will put an icebreaker twist on it.  Welcome to my very own 25 random facts, of which there are some truths and some lies.  Duh, it's 2 truths and a lie.  So I will write 15 true facts and 10 lies.  Feel free to start guessing.

2. I eat Splenda straight

11. I have 3 iPods.  Maybe 4.
12. I bought mini diet cokes to prevent me from drinking too much soda.  Instead I just drink more cans.
13. Sometimes I buy disposable cameras
14. I lost my baby blankie while playing hide and seek with it in Disney world.  I hid it in a cabinet.  I forgot to seek it.
15. My hot guy collages have a lot of MaryKate and Ashley on them.
16. I liked high school better than college
17. I wish that I could time travel.
18. I swallowed a goldfish on a dare once.

The epiphany

In When Harry Met Sally, Sally explains that she broke up with her ex-boyfriend because he did not believe that there were no Sundays in her days of the week underwear.  She says that they don't make Sundays "because of God."  Sundays are a holy day in which you should do no work and whatever.  I guess that translates to underwear.  And to blogs.  This Sunday was the first time I have skipped a day since starting the thing.  And I picked the holy Sabbath to do it.  Uh, but as a Jew, my Sabbath is on Saturday and this rational makes zero sense.  But I needed some sort of excuse.

It has come to my attention recently that I have been labeling my different entries as if they were episodes of a TV show.  You know, with a twist on a movie title or song.  The original "pilot" was intentional, but after that, I guess my incessant tv watching just inspired me.  I don't really mind the whole TV format, but only if they don't become too predictable.  No one style.  This post is in the style of The O.C., always beginning with "The".  Next up, maybe a Friends, with a "the one where..."  But if I ever pull a Degrassi and start labelling each post after an 80s pop song (with the exception of the first season masterpiece, "Jagged Little Pill", hellooo 90s), please stop me.  I need the variation.

Speaking of variation, I want to jump to a new topic.  I wish that I could write a novel. Like a really silly, fun one.  Cecily von Ziegesar isn't even good and she got a hit TV spinoff of her bestselling series.  I just finished Something Borrowed, written by Emily Giffin and encouraged by Liz Skale (from the carousel).  It was so cute and girlie that I think that I could totally do it.  Better right about being young when I still am.  Well, sort of young.  No more teenager.  Hello wrinkles and gray hair.  But yeah, I would be a fab chicklit author.  I have certainly read enough of it.  The best is Sophie Kinsella, in case you were wondering.  Hello new career.  I welcome you.
